waffles

(makes 6-8 large waffles or about 12 mini waffles)

ingredients:

2 cups of flour

1 tbsp + 1 tsp of baking powder

1/2 tsp of salt

1 tbsp of sugar

1/2 cup of butter, melted

1-3/4 cup of milk

1 tsp of vanilla

2 eggs

1 cup of add-ins, optional (chocolate chips, blueberries, etc.)

supplies:

mixing bowl

waffle maker

non-stick spray

directions:

in a mixing bowl combine all the ingredients. set aside while the waffle maker heats up. before adding the batter to the waffle maker, spray with non-stick spray. the size of your waffle maker will depend how much batter to put into the maker. be sure not to overfill it. follow the cooking instructions for your waffle maker, cooking the waffles until the batter is gone. place cooked waffles on a wire rack so they don’t get soggy. place in a oven pre-heated to 250 degrees, if desired to keep warm.

note: you can freeze cooked waffles and re-heat in a toaster oven.
