overnight croissant french toast bake
ingredients:
french toast:
7-8 large croissants, cut into large pieces
6 eggs
2 tbsps of brown sugar
2 tbsps of melted better
1-1/2 cups of heavy cream
2 tsps of pure vanilla extract
2 tsps of cinnamon
2 tbsps of maple syrup
dash of salt
1 oz of bourbon, whiskey, dark rum, or grand mariner
cinnamon sugar mix, optional
supplies:
mixing bowl
non stick spray
9x13 large baking dish
plastic wrap
aluminum foil
directions:
spray a baking dish with non-stick spray and arrange the croissant pieces in the dish. set aside.
in a mixing bowl, mix the remaining ingredients (except the cinnamon sugar mix) together well and pour over the croissant pieces. cover the dish with plastic wrap and aluminum foil, and place in the fridge overnight.
before baking, sit the baking dish on the counter for 30 minutes or so to bring to room temperature. preheat the oven to 375.
if desired, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mix before baking. bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown. serving w/ toppings of choice.
