chicken lettuce wraps
ingredients:
2 chicken breasts, sliced into thin strips
1 head of lettuce
1 bag of broccoli slaw (contains shredded broccoli, cabbage, and carrots)
1 bag of shredded carrots, optional
Salt and pepper
sauce:
1/4 cup of soy sauce
1/4 cup of teriyaki sauce
A few drops of sesame oil
2-3 tbsp of sambal/chili paste
1 tbsp of garlic
Directions:
Over medium high heat on your stove, cook the chicken and season it with salt and pepper for about 6-7 minutes. While cooking, in a bowl mix all the ingredients for the sauce. When the chicken has cooked for a few minutes, add a few tablespoons of the sauce over the chicken. You don’t want to drown it or use all the sauce; it’s also for dipping/pouring over the lettuce wraps. Cook the chicken in the sauce for an additional 5 minutes or until cooked through. To assemble the lettuce wraps, take a lettuce leaf and fill with some of the broccoli slaw, carrots, and chicken. Pour the sauce over the lettuce wrap or dip the lettuce wrap in the sauce. Enjoy!
*note: you can fill your lettuce wraps with whatever you want. this recipe is a play on thai lettuce wraps i had in a restaurant. also, you can change the chicken to any meat/protein of your choice.
